On October 14th, Gavin DeGraw brought his Raw Tour to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. This rare acoustic concert experience, powered by a setlist full of his hits spanning across the last 15 years of his music career, proved that the American singer-songwriter is here to stay with something worth saying.
On September 3rd, headliners Lorde, Alessia Cara and Liam Payne had fun in the sun for the iHeartRadio Beach Ball at the PNE Amphitheatre during The Fair at the PNE. Presented by Virgin Radio, the first night of the inaugural two-day summer music festival in Vancouver featured a line-up of artists making waves in the pop music scene.
Filling the void left by the cancellation of British Columbia’s two popular festivals Squamish and Pemberton, iHeartRadio’s Beach Ball sought to bring the music fest mojo back to Vancouver in the first-ever iteration of their live music concert events on the west coast of Canada featuring today’s hottest pop stars.
Queen + Adam Lambert are back in action and ready to rock cities across the United States and Canada all summer long. Once again, original members Brian May and Roger Taylor are joined by American singer (of American Idol fame) Adam Lambert to perform two hours’ worth of the iconic British band’s greatest hits. I first saw Queen + Adam Lambert in Vancouver during their first summer tour together in 2014. In the three years since that show, they have been travelling the globe extensively, performing to audiences in sold-out venues worldwide. The Queen + Adam Lambert extravaganza is an epic nostalgia trip for long-time fans as well as a great experience for both newer and younger fans witnessing Queen live for the very first time, both instances of which were true for the Canadian Queen fans at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on July 2nd.
John Legend is a provider of music therapy at its finest. With his soothing and soulful voice, his calm and wise manner of speaking to his audience, his easy and smooth stage presence, and his emotional and thoughtful songs, he delivers an uplifting and unforgettable show that elevates the concert experience for those lucky enough to be present. Legend brought all this and more to his Darkness and Light tour stop in Vancouver at Rogers Arena on June 1st.
On August 25th, Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas brought their Future Now Tour to Rogers Arena in Vancouver. This package deal of a concert starring the two young pop singers’ promised to be a treat for joint fans of the dynamic duo, reviving nostalgia from their Camp Rock origins and showcasing their developed artistry in the present day.
