2023

2023 Wrapped.

Entering 2024 in a lavender haze…

Reflecting back on everything that has transpired from January 1 to the summer of Barbenheimer to 12/31/23, I learned that a lot can change within the span of 365 days.

There were a few series of unfortunate events, such as being forced to move not once, but twice within two months & dealing with the impact of Bill C-18 on the industry in which I work. At the same time, 2023 was filled with many experiences worth celebrating:

🇨🇦 I explored Canada, from the white peaks of Banff to the red carpets of the Toronto International Film Festival.

🎤 I sang, danced & laughed my way through theatre performances, comedy shows & concerts (& maybe screamed a little too much during Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour)

🎥 I was entetained by media that offered much-needed escapism, thought-provoking ideas & servings of hope.

🎨 I got my creative groove back by writing, dancing, painting & illustrating.

💖 I spent lots of quality times with my favourite people during food adventures, movie dates, hot girl walks (& the annual hike), hot tub time machine sessions, fitness bootcamps, dog park crashing, bachelorette parties & wedding extravaganzas

🙏 There were friend reunions, first-time meetings with members of my chosen family, & unforgettable encounters with the amazing new people I met this year.

Throughout this endless maze of a year, I seeked opportunities for growth. Through it all…

✨ I got more comfortable with leaning on my family & friends for support.

✨ I gained a greater sense of trust & respect for myself.

✨ I found clarity in what I’ve earned & what I deserved & settled for nothing less.

✨ I sharpened my vigor for expressing & advocating for myself & for those around me.

✨ I discovered that the ones that choose to be there with you, especially when things get rocky, are the constants worth keeping in your life.

Thank you for taking the time to read this (I’m an old school woman of many words & photos, but next year, I WILL take enough videos to make one of those super cool highlight reels) & for choosing to be a part of my year. I’m very lucky to have made some core memories with all of you.

May our 2024 eras offer us a chance to level up with more rizz, more love, more light & more moments we’ll remember forever.

I don’t want to be waiting around for something to happen. Staring out a window, thinking the life you should be living is out there somewhere but not being willing to open the door and go get it.

I want to break every single rule there is.

I want to experience everything.

I want a big life.
