Happy New Year! May good times, good vibes, and good people reign free in your 2018!

As you may know by now, I like to look towards the stars and the colours to see what the upcoming year will behold in terms of overarching themes and important changes to look out for as I live out the next 365 days. Here’s what the astrologists and colour psychologists predict for 2018…

First and foremost to note, Saturn has moved into the constellation of Capricorn, where the planet will coast for three years. As Capricorn’s natural planetary ruler, Saturn’s return serves as a cosmic homecoming of sorts. The ‘Return of Saturn’ is a powerful period guaranteed to bring great change to the lives of Capricorns forever, particularly for those born in and closely around the years of 1989 and 1990. As well, generally speaking, over the next three years, we can expect massive transformations to occur within our institutional structures, from politics to the economy.

According to Georgia Nicols, the Capricorn mantra for 2018 is “More than ever before – my future is an open book.” Because Capricorn’s planetary ruler Saturn is now in our sign, the sea goats will embark on a new path of growth, advancement, and reinvention, which will dominate our journeys for the next seven years. Their personalities will continue to reshape in 2018; this is certainly a time for reinvention! Capricorns will take advantage of this optimistic period in their life to look into their innermost hopes, wishes, motivations, and dreams and from there, seek exciting new ideas and paths for their futures. The Pantone Color of the Year for 2018 is Ultra Violet. Radiantly radical (and regal), the choice of Ultra Violet (UV) was intended to light the way for what is yet to come in 2018. Associated with one-of-a-kind artistic innovators such as Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and David Bowie, the inventive and imaginative shade of UV is symbolic of originality, ingenuity, empowerment, and visionary thinking, as well as evokes a counterculture flair.

UV takes two shades that are diametrically opposed — cool blue and warm red — and brings them together to create something new, thus serving as a metaphor for the need for harmony and unity in today’s universal climate. It also represents a celestial and spiritual vibe that is needed to bring peace and unity to our world. Truly, Ultra Violet purple reigns as a bold and complex colour for bold and complex times.

2018: a year for pivotal transformations, friendships, reinvention, imagination, innovation, and living in harmony. I’ll take it!
