2020 Vision: A Year of Endurance

2020 marked the beginning of a brand new decade. We swung into the new twenties with a hope for change, growth, and prosperity on the horizon.

There was an abundance of change, alright, and unlike anything we’ve ever envisioned or experienced before…

2019 Going on 30

2019 marks my 13 Going on 30 year, or more like 2019 Going on 30.

There’s something about the whimsy and wonder that the character of Jenna Rink represents that I wish to embody in my 30th year and beyond. I want to get out of my head and start leading more with my heart. I want to have confidence in the ability to feel every emotion. I want to continue to work hard towards my ambitions, but also play hard. I want to live my life in living colour, or in other words, to live with unbridled enthusiasm.

It’s fitting that 2019’s Pantone Color of the Year just so happens to beΒ living coral. This lively shade of pinkish-orange is described as an animating and life-affirming hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. Coming from the offline world of under the sea, coral, a source of sustenance and shelter, provides an antidote of comfort, optimism, and joy to balance out the prevalence of the online world of digital technology and social media in our daily lives.

I’m looking forward to carrying this thirty, flirty, and thriving energy into all of my pursuits in 2019!

2018 Reigns

Happy New Year! May good times, good vibes, and good people reign free in your 2018!

Edge of 2017

It’s the return of my lucky number 7 in 2017. Looking back, 2007 was a monumental year because it was the year I graduated from high school and entered a brand new phase of my lifeβ€”adulthood.Β Now, ten years later, I feel like it’s time to make some more transformative changes.

My Super Sweet 2016

“Sixteen candles make a lovely light.”

In my teenage dreams, I was always anxiously looking ahead to the next chapter – finishing middle school, getting past that nerve-wracking freshman year of high school, and culminating in the grand Sweet Sixteen celebration, when all of my awkwardness and terrors would be vanquished once I turned 16 and graduated into that pre-adulthood stage of life.

Of course, things didn’t turn out quite that way. I’m well into my twenties now and still have my fair share of insecurities, uncertainties, and fears (spoiler alert – no matter what age you are, that never goes away).

But as I sit here to reflect on the past and consider my goals for the present, I’m realizing that these past two years have been exponential times of personal and professional growth for me. Confident, courageous, and happy aren’t words I could have used to describe myself at the beginning of 2014, but I can say so now. And I think that calls for a celebration, damnit!

2014 was all about surviving the quarter-life crisis and starting my career. 2015 was all about ‘making it happen’ and streamlining myself for the future. In 2016, I want to continue to broaden my horizons, in areas like travel, career, volunteering, education, fitness, home, creativity, and friendship, and just follow the yellow brick road towards learning and experience. In addition to that, I also want to make it a top priority to celebrate both my ongoing discoveries and accomplishments, as well as extend that congratulatory and celebratory spirit to others. Too often, we forget to give ourselves a much-deserved pat on the back, but acknowledging ourselves and each other is an important element of attaining satisfaction.

With that being said, My Super Sweet 2016 is going to be all about making this year a time for celebration, along with adventure, playful indulgence, weird wonderfulness, and treatin’ yo self.

What’s your grand vision for your 2016?
